We would like to thank the Rozalla Jovanovic at BLOUIN ARTINFO for the wonderful article about Gertrude featured on their website today discussing the company and Friday’s Salon featuring the works of Dylan Lynch from The Still House Group.

The article describes Gertrude’s process saying,”Inspired by Gertrude Stein’s famed Parisian atelier on 27 Rue de Fleurus, where artists, intellectuals, aristocrats, and students gathered in an unfussy environment to view work by the not-yet-famous artists like Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse, this salon was founded on the premise of giving art aficionados of all stripes the ability to meet artists in informal gatherings and get to know their work. As most of the artists spotlighted are emerging talents (with prices for their works ranging from $2,000-$15,000), the Gertrude Salon promises a taste of the up-and-coming.”

The Rhizome/Tumblr Internet Art Grant expands upon Rhizome’s existing Commissions program to specifically target Tumblr’s significant artistic community. The Internet Art Grant will award three commissioning awards with a special focus on projects from emerging artists engaged with Tumblr.

The grants will be determined by a jury of art and Tumblr experts: Massimiliano Gioni, Associate Director and Director of Exhibitions at the New Museum and Artistic Director of the 55th Venice Biennale; Laurie Anderson, noted experimental performance artist and musician; Jon Rafman, leading contemporary artist; Zoë Salditch, Rhizome’s Program Director; and Topherchris, Tumblr Editorial Director.
